WELCOME TO THE CENTRAL LIBRARY, ACHARYA NARENDRA DEV COLLEGE

Acharya Narendra Dev College Library is the first Library in Delhi University having computerized circulation of books since 1994. Now it works on RFID System, where no human intervention is required to get the books issued or returned. Students themselves can get the books issued or returned. Currently Library is shifted to the open source software KOHA version 19.11.

Library is well equipped with 32800 books having the best reference collection, text books covering all the subjects taught in the college like Botany, Zoology, Bio-Medical Science, Computer Science, Commerce, Chemistry, Electronics, Physics, general books, biographies, science fiction, books on ethics and many more. 25 Journals and magazines and 10 newspapers are subscribed. Besides this library is using the intranet facility of Delhi University Library System. With this, faculty and students can access a number of e-resources like J-STOR, Journal of Digital Information, Elsevier Science, Emerald, Springer and Kluwer Journals, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Encyclopaedia Britannica for their studies and research purpose. Besides this library is also the member of N-List (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content) of UGC Inflibnet, where many e-books and e-journals can be accessed. Book Bank facility is provided to the Student Aid Fund allottees.

The College Library spread over two floors. Ground floor provides access to students to a wide range of international and national journals, magazines, daily newspapers and books, growing digital media collections and other printed materials to support research and learning. First floor is having web centre and spacious reading hall where student can bring their belongings also.One part of first floor is used as an Open Library. The books donated by the students and faculty are kept in it.It is managed by the students themselves.The concept of take one and leave one is implemented.

Library is fully air-conditioned and under CCTV cameras surveillance, Wi-Fi enabled and has a seating capacity of 110 users. Reading rooms are available for both faculty and students on the ground and first floor.Timings of the library is 9.00 am to 5.30 pm. Circulation of books is done from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.

All under graduate students can get four books issued for 15 days. However rare expensive textbooks are issued for 3 three days. All M.Sc. students can get 5 books issued for a month. Faculty members can get 10 books issued for a semester. Non-teaching staff can get 2 books for a month.
